Title: Insomniac
Fandom: X-Men

Prompt: 2. As I Lay Me Down to Sleep
Word Count: 191
Rating: G
Summary: He never realized how important it was.
Jono didn’t realize how important sleep was until he stopped doing it.
Maybe if he hadn’t been in Snow Valley, he wouldn’t have noticed so much. In London, there was always something to do at any time of day or night. But not in Snow Valley. Not at the school.
Jono would emerge from his basement lair after the others went to sleep. It was easier for him to move about when he didn’t have to deal with their stares.
Not that he didn’t have company in the night. Angelo was one of nature’s night owls, and was perfectly happy to have someone to while away the hours with. And there was silent Penance, who listened to him during those rare times when he wanted to talk.
Sometimes it was Ms. Frost with him in the dark of the night. They never spoke, when it was the two of them.
Jubilee, on the other hand, felt the need to fill the silence with unending chatter on those odd nights were she couldn’t find her rest. She didn’t much care for the quiet that came with the night.
Jono could understand that.
