“I didn’t want a freak for a son.”
Jono turned his head to look at his father. He was looking, fat, pale, and disheveled… so pretty much par for the course. Jono sat up a little.
“But here you are. God, Jonothon.” He scrubbed his hand over his face. Jono had spent his whole life dreading that he would someday end up looking like the old man, all fat and jowly. Now he new that would never happen. Not with half his face replaced by a raging inferno.
