Water hissed into steam as it hit the fire that nested in Jono’s chest. He turned his back to the spray, letting the water wash over him, washing the day away. He closed his eyes and shuddered, the water stabbing into him like hot needles. Frost was going to get on him for this, but it took a lot of heat for him to even feel it, and he wanted to feel something -- anything -- other than tired.
Mr. Starsmore, will you please stop using up all the hot water in the boys dormitory?
