Fandom: Runaways
Table/Prompt: Table 1/52. Movie
Character/Pairing: Klara
Rating: PG
Word Count: 248
Summary: Klara’s slowly catching up on all the movies that have come out between 1907 and now.
Authors Notes/Disclaimer: I own nothing.
Klara sat on the edge of her seat as the wall fell on Buster Keeton, only to have him avoid being squashed by a well placed window. In the seat beside her, Molly yawn, and a bit further down the row, Xavin murmured something about preferring the subtlety of the Marx Brothers. Klara ignored them both.
Before coming to the future, she had seen only one movie, which she had snuck in to while trying to escape the rain for a little while. She had been astounded to watch a man turn in to a monster right on the screen.
That night, her husband had been in a particularly foul temper, and had beaten her with a belt until her back bled because she had not brought in more money. That had been more than enough to erase all thoughts of seeing more moving pictures from her head.
Now there were so many movies to see, all bright and colorful and loud, just like new world around her. She didn’t much care for those movies, though. They were just… too much.
The older movies were good, though. The others complained that they were out of date, but to Klara, they were fresh and magical.
