Tommy blocked Kate’s way out of the room, a little smirk on his face. “Have you ever seen the sun set over the fjords?” he asked her.
Kate thought about it for a long time, waiting to answer until Tommy had started to fidget. “Well… I can’t say that I have, actually,” she said slowly.
Tommy leaned against the door frame, trying to look cool and casual. He was mostly successful, but Kate caught on to the fact that he wanted to get moving. “Would you like to?” he asked, arching a single white eyebrow in a look that Kate knew he’d copied from Billy, who had, in turn, learned it from Star Trek.
Once again, Kate made the speedster wait until he started to squirm with impatience. “Eh… I think I’m gonna take a pass, Tommy.”
Tommy pouted, but just a little. “Why?”
Kate swept a hand through her hair, tossing it over her shoulder. “Because I’ve seen you run on water, and I know you can carry me, but I don’t think you can actually do both.”
