Summary: In which there is some talk about whether or not the Kaplans should move somewhere else after Kl’rt the Super-Skrull blows a giant whole in their apartment.
Authors Notes/Disclaimer: I own nothing.
Jeff Kaplan pulled his glasses off and rubbed the bridge of his nose as Rebecca read over the letter from the building association again. “We can fight this,” she said to her husband, chin thrust out as if she could use it to batter everyone into submission.
“Should we?” Jeff asked. “I mean… really? Maybe we should move.”
Rebecca folded the letter up. “Our insurance covers damage from super-human fights, and we’ve been ideal tenants until now. This is my home, and I won’t let them chase me off. Besides, where would we move to?” she asked. “ Queens ?”
“Having an actual house wouldn’t be so bad,” Jeff mused. “A yard. Maybe a dog?”
“You hate dogs, you’re allergic to grass, and you don’t like long commutes, either, Jeff.”
“I don’t hate all dogs.”
“Just most of them,” Rebecca said dryly. “The boys need stability and the comfort of the familiar, anyway. With this on our record, there’s no way we could get another apartment in this school district, so on top of everything, we’d have to put the boys in different schools. And there’s Teddy to consider.”
