Victor held up a hand, waving the stripper off as he reaching for his Coke. “I’m just the designated drive,” he said.
“So you can’t have a dance?” the woman asked with a coquettish pout, fluttering her impossibly long, sparkly eyelashes.
“I’m sure my big, rocky looking friend over there would be happier to see you,” Victor suggested, opening his book. After a moment, he pulled out a fifty dollar bill. “Show him a good time.”
The bill disappeared almost as if by magic, and the stripper left him to his book.
She was back a few moments later. “He gave me three times as much to sit on your lap.”
“Give the girl a seat, Vic!” Julian called. “It’s my party, and I say you have to!”
“You do know I’m gay, right?” Victor called back, moving his book and sighing in annoyance as the woman settled down.
“Well, then I get a break,” she said. “If you’re gay, why are you here?”
“My best friend is getting married. I don’t get to miss the bachelor party.”
