Title: Hope For
Fandom: Spider-Girl
Characters: May Parker, Franklin Richards
Prompt: 14. Hope
Rating: G
Summary: Franklin interrupts May on her way to school.
Author's Notes: I'm a little strange. I rather like razzing on MC2 Franklin Richards.
May Parker swung up and around the skyscrapers of New York, enjoying the pure physicality of swinging from her webs. There was a simple joy in bending and twisting and flinding herself into the air with nothing to catch her but her own skill that just couldn't be matched by anything in the training exercises. She caught a flagpole and used it to swing herself around, heading for her school.
She almost collided with Franklin Richards, and narrowly avoided doing so by shooting her webs downward and pulling herself down with them. She wasn't exactly pleased to have her swing interrupted, but this was Franklin Richards, and there was something strangely gratifying about his startled yelp. "Hey Frankie! What's up?"
"My heart rate," Franklin muttered.
"You shouldn't sneak up on me like that," May said, rolling her eyes even though she knew he couldn't see it under the mask.
"I was hardly sneaking," Franklin sniffed, looking slightly ruffled.
"You were totally sneaking!"
"Why would I sneak?"
"Cause you're mean."
"Am not!" he said indignantly.
"Are too." She would have stuck her tongue out at him if she could have. "And you don't take me seriously."
"You don't take anything seriously."
"How would you know? You don't know me."
Franklin blinked. "Um?"
May swung away, Franklin trailing after her silently. Finally, he called out, "It's kind of hard to know someone when you've never seen their face."
"Some of us value our civilian identities, Franklin."
"How about a name, then?"
"Will you leave me alone if I give you one?"
"If that's what you want."
May could see her school up ahead. She'd be getting there just in time for homeroom.
"It's May."
She dropped down to the roof and watched Franklin hover in the air a few minutes before flying away.
