Author's Notes/Summary: Rebecca Kaplan has a meeting with Tony Stark. It does not go well.

Rebecca Kaplan folded her hands on her desk and looked Tony Stark in the eyes. She pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose as he explained that it was vitally important for Billy's safety that she tell him where the boy was, if she knew. She ran her thumb over her wedding ring as he told her that they would be more lenient on Billy if he turned himself in, so if she had some way to give him a message, she should encourage him to surrender.

Rebecca got to her feet and beckoned Mr. Stark to follow her. "Trying to use me to manipulate my son is low, Mr. Stark, she said, leading him into her office lobby. "Be aware, if something should happen to myself or my family, if you should try to take us into 'protective custody' or any nonsense like that, everyone will hear about it." Her dark eyes narrowed behind her glasses. "Our lawyers, our friends, our family members, our colleagues, they all have things to send in the event of our disappearance. You could probably get most of them, but a few would get through. And then you'll have to explain just why you are going after two well respected doctors and their little boys... all very photogenic. A public relations nightmare." She leaned in close. "I never want to see or hear from you again, Mr. Stark. Is that clear? You and your cronies stay out of my office and away from my family, or I will find a way to make you hurt. Am I clear?"

"Perfectly," Tony Stark said coldly.

"Good. Now fuck off and die, you tin fascist."

"You are a very brave woman, Mrs. Kaplan."

Rebecca closed her eyes and let out a slow breath. "What I am is angry. How dare he do this? Doesn't he realize that what he's doing is every bit as bad as Stamford was?"

"Tony was always surprisingly short sighted about things like this. But... I am amazed. The lengths you are going to..."

"I'm a mother. I'm sure you can understand that."

"Yes," Wanda Maximoff said softly, "I think I do."
