Title: Too Heavy
Author:
dorksidefiker
Fandom: That Damn Mpreg
Table/Prompt: Table 5/8. Overwhelmed
Character/Pairing: Nate Altman-Kaplan/Hal Lang
Rating: PG
Word Count: 225
Summary: It’s just too damn heavy.
Authors Notes/Disclaimer: Another tale from That Damn Mpreg.
Nate Altman-Kaplan felt like his brain was ready to dribble out of his ears. He was flat on his back on top of the Avengers Tower, his head pillowed in Hal Lang’s lap as he stared up at the sky, right at the massive Kree battle platform hovering above the city.
He wasn’t actually seeing the ship, though, or anything else. The world around him had long since gone red, then black. But he could feel the ship, just like he could feel the blood running down his face. He held it there with his power, keeping it from crashing into the heart of the city. It was too heavy, and he could feel it slipping away.
He was vaguely aware of Hal wiping away the blood leaking from his nose, eyes, and ears. “You’re almost there, baby,” Hal whispered. “A little further and it’ll drop right into the water. You can do this, Nate.”
Nate’s power finally gave out as the ship hovered over Ellis Island. In the battle of the Kree battle platform vs the Statue of Liberty, the battle platform won.
