Title: Can't Imagine
Fandom: X-Men: Evolution
Characters: Sam Guthrie, Rogue
Prompt: 38. Touch
Word Count: 164
Rating: G
Summary: He can't imagine what it's like to be Rogue.
Sam Guthrie couldn’t begin to imagine what it was like to be Rogue. Every day, he saw how others avoided even getting near her, even when she was covered from head to toe.
Sam came from a family of huggers. Touching was as natural to him as breathing, even if his teammates constantly accused him of being too touchie-feelie.
Where he came from, you greeted people with a hug. It was sociable.
He couldn’t imagine what it was like to live without that, but he was willing to bet that the lack of human contact was part of what made Rogue so surly all the time.
It was this thinking that lead to the day when Sam snuck up behind Rogue and caught her in a big bear hug. She let out a surprised shriek and spun around as soon as he put her down, demanding to know if he’d lost his damn fool mind.
“Maybe,” he told her with a care free grin.
