Summary: She's watching him sleep.
Hinata watched Gaara sleep.
This was a change of rolls for the two. Hinata was reasonably certain that Gaara often watched her sleep (the sand was a dead give away). But Gaara rarely joined her in slumber.
Watching him sleep, it was easy to guess why.
She didn’t know what went on in his nightmares, but she could make a few educated guesses.
He was as silent in sleep as he was in waking, but he folded up on himself and shook like a leaf in the wind.
Hinata could hear the sand in the gourd rustling, but she ignored it.
“Yashamaru…” Gaara whimpered, sounding very, very young for a moment.
