Hinata squirmed a little under Gaara’s intense scrutiny. “Kazekage-sama? Is there something I can help you with?”

The Sand-nin reached out and touched the bandage above Hinata’s eye, and the Leaf-nin flinched. “You should have seen this coming,” he said slowly.

“Ah, I did,” Hinata admitted, “but seeing it coming and being able to get out of the way are two different things.”

Gaara grunted in a non-committal way.

“I’ll be faster next time,” she added.

“Good.”
