Summary: He didn’t realize until it was too late.

Naruto didn’t even realize that Gaara thought of him as a rival until the contest was long over. He didn’t realize that Hinata had harbored a flame for him until it had died.
He didn’t realize what he had lost in his pursuit of Sasuke until it had long since slipped through his fingers.
He cursed himself for a fool, but didn’t dwell on it long. He didn’t look back much (save for when it came to Sasuke), and it wasn’t like there was anything to be done about it now. Hinata and Gaara were happy, and this pleased Naruto. They deserved to be happy, and if being together did that, then so be it.
