Summary: She doesn't have a clue who left it.
The ribbon was bright red silk, and the perfect length to tie a pony tail or braid with. Hinata wrapped it around her fingers, brushing the silk with her thumb. There were no traps, no poisons… just the crimson colored ribbon. And no clue as to who had left it.
She briefly hoped that it might have been Naruto, but she dismissed the idea as quickly as it had come. This was not something the Number One Loud Mouth Ninja would do. It was too subtle. That also eliminated Kiba. Shino might… if he hadn’t made it abundantly clear that his preference was for men. This sort of thing was too troublesome for Shikamaru, even if he wasn’t with Chouji. Again, this was too subtle a thing for Rock Lee, and not Neji-oni-sama’s style either.
It could have been one of her cousins hoping to curry favor with the Hyuuga heiress… but even if Hanabi wasn’t the favored child, nobody wishing to gain favor would give an anonymous gift.

Temari watched Gaara as he watched… whatever it was he was watching through his Third Eye jutsu. He was smiling, and it was more than a little creepy.
