It was Victor's idea to throw her a birthday party. He insisted they needed to celebrate something. Why not Molly's birthday?
Later, everyone would admit that it wasn't much of a party. Nico burnt the cake, Chase locked himself in his room, Xavin was confused, and Karolina was frustrated. The elder runaways all abandoned the celebration, leaving Victor (who went out and brought back cupcakes) and Molly.
"Okay, maybe this was a bad idea," Vic admitted as he stuck a candle on one of the cupcakes. "But we'll make the most of it." He lit the candle and handed the cupcake off to Molly. "Make a wish."
Molly contemplated the cupcake for several moments before blowing out the tiny flame. Victor handed her the mouse shaped hat he'd gotten for her. "Happy Birthday."
"Thanks," Molly said, unusually subdued. She switched the hats out, then looked at Victor, who smiled and nodded.
"You look great, chica."
She managed a small grin. "Thanks, Vic."
"Any time, amiga. Next year, you're getting a cake so big, blowing out the candles will leave you breathless."
Molly giggled.
