Later, Teddy would describe it to Billy as being practically angelic. Where there had been darkness, there was now brilliant blue light, pushing everything back. And at the center of the light was Billy, his eyes closed and his head thrown back, mouth open in a silent cry.
Mephisto had screamed with rage as Billy forced him back into the night. And then he was gone, and Billy fell.
Teddy had caught him.
Billy slept for three days afterwards, and woke up screaming.
