Title: Prom
Prompt: 90. Insecure
Fandom: Young Avengers
Rating: PG
Notes: Billy and Teddy go to the prom.
Billy resisted the urge to hide behind Teddy as they made their entrance into the gym. He felt he had good reason to hide. For one thing, he had never expected to go to any prom. For another, it was Teddy's. So the only person Billy knew here was Teddy.
Teddy handed over the prom tickets and looked around. "So, photos first?"
"Sure," Billy said with a little shrug. He let Teddy lead him to the little trellis someone had set up, trying to ignore the stares they were attracting. Teddy put an arm around Billy's waist, and they both smiled for the camera. The boy behind it flashed them a quick look that Billy didn't have time to interpret before it was gone.
Teddy still had his arm around Billy's waist as they went in search of a table. A handsome, dark haired boy watched their progress from where he sat, surrounded by fawning sycophants.
"That Greg?" Billy asked, jerking his chin in the boy's direction.
"Hm? Oh. Yeah." Teddy frowned, steering them away from the table. Billy glanced at Greg, who gave the shape-shifter and the spell caster a full on scowl.
Suddenly, he wasn't so handsome anymore.
