“I’m fine,” Kevin growled, refusing to take the hand that Ben offered him as he tried to climb out of the mud pit. He only succeeded in sliding back in and getting completely coated in a fresh layer of mud. He smoothed his hair back from his face, a disagreeable expression settling in and making itself at home.
Ben’s hand remained outstretched, and Kevin continued to ignore it.
