Rowena made a disgruntled noise as Byron wrapped a powerful arm around her waist and pulled her away from the table, carrying her back to the bedroom.
“No you aren’t. You’re eating because there’s food. And that food will still be there in the morning.” He nuzzled the back of her neck, pushing aside the loose braid Rowena had put her hair in to. “I promise.”
“Feh, promises.” Rowena snorted.
“In the highly unlikely event that the food is gone in the morning, I will personally go get more,” Byron said. “I will catch it myself, clean it, cook it, and present it to you in bed.”
“Ah,” Rowena said with a sage nod. “I see your plan now. I always knew you only wanted me for my body.”
“You should learn to trust more. Paranoia gives you wrinkles.”
