Summary: Jono’s spotted a familiar face, and is doing his best to avoid her.

“We need to go,” Jono whispered, doing his best to hide behind Jubilee, Christian, and Sofia without looking like he was hiding.
“What did you do?” Jubilee sighed. “We just rescued a bunch of people from being set on fire by the Friends of Humanity, or whatever they’re calling themselves these days. The police haven’t turned up yet. People here are grateful to us. Why should we leave?”
“You see the green girl over there? The one with the head?” Jono asked, thrusting his chin towards one of the few actual mutants left amongst the crowd of former mutants. “Answers to Amber.”
“Ex-girlfriend?” Christian guessed with a knowing smirk.
“We had a misunderstanding,” Jono corrected, clearly uncomfortable. “Cultural stuff. It’s complicated.”
“You made an ass of yourself,” Jubilee said. “Bet she hit you.”
“I don’t want to get in to it,” Jono said, slightly exasperated. “I just want to get out of here before she realizes it’s me. Okay?”
