Summary: Eli's not sure how much more he can take of Billy and his familiar. Sequel to Goblin.

"He's not ugly," Billy said defensively as he cuddled the evil devil cat to his chest. "He's got personality."
Eli continued his glaring contest with the beast, which somehow manged to look supremely smug and evil looking while being snuggled and cooed at. "It tried to eat my face, Billy," he gritted out, trying his best to be the calm and rational one in the conversation. God knew Billy wasn't going to be coming back to sanity any time soon. The hairless devil beast had probably already eaten part of Billy's brain or hypnotized him or something. "I'm really not understanding what you don't get about that."
"He wasn't trying to eat your face." Billy held the demon cat up to his face and said, in the most mind numbing baby-talk voice Eli had ever heard, "You weren't trying to eat his face, were you Goblin? No you weren't, you were just trying to make friends!"
"Oh God," Eli muttered. "I can't take this."
"Nobody's making you stay," Billy sniffed, turning his back to Eli. Goblin's head peeked over Billy's shoulder, and the beast's ears pulled back as it barred it's fangs at the boy. It looked like the unholy lovechild of a cat and a snake. Eli, being a far wiser person than many would give him credit for, retreated from the room to recruit help in freeing Billy from the influence of the demon beast.
The door clicked shut, and Billy put Goblin down on the floor, crouching in front of his familiar. "Good job. We'll give him a week to stew, then it's on to the next phase." He produced a packet of kitty treats from his pocket and smiled as Goblin happily swallowed them down. "He never should have eaten my Lucky Charms."
