The door to Jerrica Benton’s office slammed open, allowing Pizzazz to storm in with Jerrica’s very apologetic secretary trailing behind her. Jerrica’s upper lip curled as she got to her feet, a headache already forming behind her eyes. “What do you want?”
Pizzazz threw herself in to one of the chairs, crossing one leg over the other. “Eric Raymond is a rat bastard and I wanna watch him twist in the wind by one of his cheap ties.” Her nails dug in to the upholstery, poisonous green eyes narrowed as they raked over Jerrica, taking everything in. “But it’d hurt him more to hit him where he really cares. His profits.” She smiled, a sharp and vicious expression, like an angry cat.
Jerrica studied Pizzazz right back, drumming her fingers on her desk. “Why the change, Pizzazz?”
“Are you really gonna question that?” Pizzazz shot back. “I wanna help you get the bastard by the short and curlies. You in or what?”
Jerrica looked at the paperwork on her desk; bills and invoices, shipping records and market research, plus all the half finished reconstruction of the old records from the dark days when Eric Raymond had been running Starlight Music. He’d done everything he could to ruin the company when he’d left, and even after all this time, Jerrica was still seeing the scars he’d left behind.
“I’m in.”
