At night, when Peter Parker is trying to sleep, he sees Harry Osborn’s face.
Sometimes, it’s just Harry, the way he was before the whole world went mad. Sometimes it’s the monstrous thing his father turned him in to. Sometimes it’s some horrible amalgamation of the two.
Usually, Harry is screaming. Or he’s blaming Peter for what happened to him, and for taking MJ away. And Peter just knows that Harry is absolutely right. If Peter had done something, anything differently, Harry might still be alive. If he’d done something about Harry’s dad sooner, he wouldn’t be having nightmares about Harry and his blood pooling on the pavement, then rising in a great red wave and drowning him.
Maybe he’d be able to sleep again.
