Radu studied the control panel of the tiny Spung escape craft with all due thoughtfulness, then in a single swift, decisive motion, put his fist through the controls. The computer whined like a kicked puppy, and Radu smiled faintly, though the expression had no real warmth. He gave the remains of the panel a gentle pat and slipped out into the ship proper, pleased with his impromptu bit of maintenance. Now all he had to do was slip quietly back to the Christa while the others kept the Spung distracted, and let things take their natural course.
