Summary: Victor has done something very, very stupid in order to give them the chance to go home.
Author's Notes: Sequel to Exit.
“Oh God Vic what did you do?” Billy whispered as he fell to his knees beside Victor, just outside of the glowing portal. He wrestled the bloody knife from Victor’s grip and helped the still bleeding mutant sit up. “Vic? Victor!”
“Stabilized the portal,” Victor said, gasping as Billy pressed his hands to the wound in his belly to stem the flow of blood. “We can both… go home.”
“It’s feeding off you. It’ll kill you if it stays open much longer.”
“Then we’d better… hurry.” Victor groaned. Billy pulled him to his feet, still keeping pressure on Victor’s wound. Blood seeped between his fingers like water through the cracks in a failing dam.
“You idiot, you complete moron,” Billy whispered.
