“The shaman is always outside his tribe.”
Dramari clucked his tongue, watching the man only he could see from the corner of his eye. “You say that a lot.”
Nate Grey laughed. “You chose to be outside your tribe, Dramari, without my influence. You knew what it would be like. Do you regret your decision?”
“Not for one moment,” Dramari admitted. “I doubt I ever will.” He chuckled to himself. “I am something my tribe truly needs, even if they do not realize it.” He paused thoughtfully. “Well, maybe Surdani. But she still thinks I am insane.”
“All part of being a shaman,” Nate assured him. “You’ll do fine.”
Dramari licked his lips, watching his sister move amongst their people, something silent and dark and amazing. She was their father’s daughter, the living embodiment of everything that is was to be an Inhuman, and she would be their queen.
He knew that it was his duty to be the shaman to her chieftain.
