“Hey, you,” Victor said weakly, blinking as he looked up at Billy. “Did we win?” He tried to sit up, only to find that the whole world was spinning entirely too fas.
“Easy,” Billy said, one hand resting in the middle of Victor’s shoulder blades. “It’s alright. We did it.”
“We beat Mephisto.” Victor smiled, even though he felt like he was going to puke.
“You’ve got a concussion,” Billy said. “You need to take it easy, Victor.”
“Uh-huh. ‘kay.” Victor continued to smile.
