It was a bad idea to fall in love with Billy Kaplan, and Victor knew it. His family – his sort-of family, anyway – were the wrong kind of people to get involved with. Victor had been there when Polaris had gone crazy, and he’d heard stories about Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch. And that wasn’t even considering Magneto, the Uncrowned King of Batshit Crazy.

It was only a matter of time before something like that happened to Billy.

But when it came right down to the heart of the matter, it was impossible not to fall for Billy. He was sweet, and funny, and sexy in a way that made it clear that he had absolutely no idea how attractive he actually was.

And Victor really didn’t want to be afraid of falling in love.
